Chicago's latest wine bar grows sales using online marketing & a neighborhood vibe

This week, we spoke to ignoble food-focused wine bar’s owner and GM Luke Fairbank. In this Q&A, Luke shares how he started using REVZI’s products and services and how it has helped improve his business.

How did you get the idea to open a wine bar & how did you make it reality?

“I spent a lot of time traveling around Europe and while there I realized wine was an everyday thing. They didn’t make it pretentious , it was a commonality, cheaper than most waters and soda even. I appreciated the different flavors and regions and it sparked my interest in learning more. That is where my passion came from and the idea of owning my own wine bar all stemmed from that. This idea came about in 2006, and I spent the last few years creating a plan, finding the perfect space and ultimately making it happen. The rest is history."

When did you open? Why the location?

"This past Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. We chose the location, based on fate. We searched for a location that provided us with a neighborhood feel on the outside and a cozy environment on the inside. After spending time in France, I was searching for an old school Chicago bar with an old wooden bar that had character and history. Walking into 2417 N. Clybourn Ave. we knew it was home to Ignoble Wine Bar."

It’s early on, but how have we helped so far? Have you seen results?

"REVZI is handling all of our digital marketing and social media. It has so many great marketing and sales tools in one place. Beyond the software, we have already seen some of the marketing campaigns working. One campaign offers a promo coupon, which we have had customers bring in. It’s only the beginning but we can see that it’s working and are excited for the lengths we can grow. The ad design work has also been phenomenal and it's taking things far beyond what I could do myself."

What is your vision for the future & how can we help?

"We want the neighborhood to be the backbone of Ignoble. We want to be a local spot, where we have loyal and regular customers. We hope to provide the neighborhood with an old school Chicago bar that isn’t as common as it used to be. We keep things simple. We want to serve good wine and good food to great people. We want Ignoble to become a regular stop on your way home from work and get to know each and everyone of our customers to create friendships and have this business grow together."
